If I had to define myself, I would call myself a “liberal” before I’d call myself a “moderate.” And to see that 48 percent of self-identified liberals would respect a working mom’s choice over a stay-at-home mom’s choice; that 41 percent had “no opinion;” and that 89 percent (presumably) had an opinion at all?
Well, my feelings are hurt.
“No opinion” should have come in at 100 percent. To me, that’s what “liberal” means. Choice is choice.
The fact that there’s an apparent divide? Good luck liberals (and moderates, for that matter), on changing anything about the way our nation views parenting, work-life balance, and pay equity.
